Understanding nicotine strengths

Nicotine strength is usually stated in milligrams per gram (mg/g) or milligrams per pouch (mg/pouch). Many manufacturers also use labels such as Normal, Strong or Extra Strong. As a rough guide:

Mild / light (approx. 2 to 6 mg/g): for occasional users and anyone who prefers a mild effect.
Medium / normal (approx. 6 to 12 mg/g): the usual strength for regular users.
Strong (approx. 12 to 20 mg/g): clearly noticeable, for experienced users.
Extra strong / extreme (over 20 mg/g): very high intensity, only for very experienced users.

Tip: if you already use nicotine and are trying a new brand, start one level lower. If you feel dizzy or nauseous, remove the pouch immediately.

Formats: slim, mini and more

Besides strength, nicotine pouches differ in format:

Slim: long and flat, the most common format.
Mini: smaller and particularly discreet.

From age 18: since 01.10.2024, nicotine products, including nicotine pouches, may only be sold to persons aged 18 and over – including online with age verification.
Tax: snus and nicotine pouches are subject to a tobacco tax of 10% of the retail price.
