From October of this year, all traders, manufacturers, and importers in the tobacco industry must be registered in accordance with the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD). This regulation affects everyone who trades in tobacco products to ensure the traceability of tobacco goods throughout the European Union. In Germany, Bundesdruckerei GmbH is responsible for managing and registering the individual identification features (Unique Identifiers).

Registration in the Track-and-Trace System

Required Information
The following data is required for registration in the traceability system:
- Company name
- Company address
- Valid email address
- Mobile phone number (for sending the initial password via SMS)
- VAT identification number
- Tax identification number
- Legal form of the company

After successful registration, participants can log in to the self-management portal and view the current interface specifications.

1. Register with Bundesdruckerei

On the start screen, you need to select which part of the supply chain you belong to.

Then you can enter your company data and complete the registration. This will be processed, which can take up to 24 hours.

 

2. Register your establishment

 After successful registration, you can add your establishment in the portal. It will then receive the Track and Trace ID.

Done. Your registration is now complete.

The central issuing office of Bundesdruckerei has several tasks:
1. Provision of a registration and ordering portal
2. Registration of all economic participants from the tobacco industry
3. Creation and issuance of individual identification features in electronic or physical form for single and bulk packages
