Helwit Banana Slim review: mild banana flavour from Sweden

There are plenty of fruity nicotine pouches, but banana is still a rare flavour. With Helwit Banana Slim 3.5mg, the Swedish brand Helwit offers a variety aimed at adults who like mild strengths and creamy fruit flavours.

Our review looks at taste, strength and comfort in everyday use – including who the variety suits and which alternatives the Helwit range offers.

Key facts at a glance

• Brand: Helwit (Sweden)
• Flavour: sweet, creamy banana
• Format: Slim, All White (tobacco-free)
• Nicotine strength: 3.5 mg per pouch – mild
• Price at Snustrend: currently CHF 5.90 per can
• Special feature: according to the manufacturer, produced with hydropower and sold in recyclable cans

Flavour profile: creamy, sweet and subtle

When you open the can, a distinct, sweet scent of ripe bananas rises, reminiscent of banana sweets or banana milk.

In the mouth, a soft, creamy aroma unfolds with a slightly floury fruit note. The sweetness is present but not overpowering or artificial. Unlike cooling mint varieties, Helwit Banana offers a gentle taste experience. In our test, the flavour stayed clearly noticeable for about 30 to 40 minutes before slowly fading.

If you are looking for an intense cooling effect, you won't find it here: Banana is deliberately a "warm", dessert-like variety without menthol.

Comfort and fit

Helwit's slim pouches are soft, slightly moist and lie flat under the upper lip. Thanks to the narrow format they are barely noticeable and don't press, even when worn for longer. As the pouches are white and tobacco-free, they produced only little drip in our test.

How Slim differs from Mini and Large is explained in Snus formats explained: Mini, Slim and Large.

Nicotine strength: what 3.5 mg means

With 3.5 mg of nicotine per pouch, Helwit Banana Slim falls into the "mild" category. The variety suits adult nicotine users who prefer a gentle nicotine release throughout the day without a strong "kick", or who deliberately want to keep the strength low. If you don't smoke or use nicotine, don't start.

Mild pouches also contain nicotine, and nicotine is addictive. Pay attention to how many pouches you use over the day. Which strength suits which level of use is shown in our guide Snus dosage: which strength (mg) is right for me? If you are curious about the other end of the scale, see The strongest nicotine pouches 2026.

Use and storage

• Place the pouch between your upper lip and gum; do not chew it.
• After use, dispose of the pouch in the lid compartment of the can or in the bin, not on the ground.
• Store cans in a cool, dry place. For larger supplies, the fridge helps keep the flavour fresh.
• Always keep out of reach of children. In an emergency: Tox Info Suisse 145, emergency number 144.

Strengths and weaknesses

What we like:

• rare, creamy banana flavour
• high comfort thanks to soft slim pouches
• mild strength of 3.5 mg per pouch
• manufacturer information on hydropower and recyclable cans

What you should know:

• no cooling – mint fans will be happier with other varieties
• for adults used to stronger pouches, 3.5 mg feels very restrained
• the sweetness is a matter of taste

Alternatives from the Helwit range

If you like the concept but banana isn't your flavour, Helwit offers other slim varieties:

• Helwit Mint 3.5mg Slim – classic mint at the same mild strength
• Helwit Cola 3.5mg Slim – sweet and fizzy
• Helwit Violet 3.5mg Slim – floral and unusual
• Helwit Mocha Slim – for coffee lovers
• Helwit Cherry Slim and Helwit Blueberry Slim – more fruit varieties

You can find the full range in the Helwit collection, and more tobacco-free pouches in our snus collection.

Verdict

Helwit Banana Slim 3.5mg is a good choice for adults looking for a flavourful, mild change from the usual mint and berry varieties. The sweet, creamy banana flavour combined with the low strength and the comfortable slim format makes this pouch a pleasant companion throughout the day.
